I have a friend who is a vegan. She loves to eat her food raw and in its natural form. She likes to eat fruit, vegetables, and just the whole thing. I also like to eat a diet like that. One of the reasons I like raw food is because it makes me feel more connected to the earth and nature. If I eat raw meat, I feel a little disconnected from it.

I am a vegan, and I did an experiment last year that tested my ability to control my blood sugar levels. I used to have the opposite problem with my blood sugar levels. I was very insulin resistant and I would have a problem with it if I ate too much meat. I ate a lot of vegetables, fruits, nuts, and seeds.
Vegetarian diets may help with blood sugar control, but a study at the University of Washington found that vegetarians with a standard diet had the same rate of diabetes as meat-eaters (and that meat-eaters had higher blood sugar levels than meat-free vegetarians). So that’s not the only reason vegetarians may eat more carbs and gain weight.
