As it turns out, autopilot is a word that isn’t being used enough in the context of the average person’s vocabulary. The vast majority of us talk about “autopilot” not as an actual thing, but rather as an abstract concept. The word describes the situation in which we are “on autopilot” and no longer control our inner dialogue or actions. It is the same as when someone says, “I’m on autopilot,” and then talks about something else.
